Masuya Restaurant is located in a building, which has been designated as a cultural asset, on O’Connell Street in Sydney. This is the same place as the office of Kanematsu Gosho, the pioneer of Australia – Japan trades, was situated in 1980. Masuya Restaurant opened in 1993, then full renovation was implemented in 2006.The approx. five meters long sushi counter, designed by architect Robert Toland in ‘kabuki red’ with an idea of the stage of kabuki, has since fascinated not only local Australian customers but also various people with different backgrounds.A showcase displays more than 20 different sushi ingredients everyday including locally produced fish, which is purchased on the day. Other carefully selected ingredients are wagyu beef, free-range pork, and seasonal vegetables.     Good service and nice food. We try Nagasaki seafood udon, pork gyoza and eggplan with sweet miso and all of them taste good. Definitely will be back 🙂.

    This was my first time at a yakiniku restaurant and I’m absolutely obsessed! For meats we got the Ox Tongue, Karubi Plate and Beef Loin — and it was unlike anything I’ve ever had. The meat was super fresh and flavourful. The ambience of the restaurant was lovely and peaceful too. I’ll definitely be back once I save up for the Wagyu selection!

    I got thr premium buffet on a Saturday night, so it was very busy but the service was quick and amazing, This is my second time coming here, first time was OMG Amazing ..!! Like had to be my fav Jap all you can eat.. meat was soft juicy and amazing.. i highly rated it.. But sadly second time I came i was a little disappointed.. wagyu was a little chewy, beef tongue was frozen, but overall I was still happy with it, but not sure now if I'll come back especially for the premium price.
