Eight years ago, Maximo Bistrot started as a restaurant for the thinking and execution of dishes from a wide range of techniques with the best of local ingredients; a warmful place that communicated our love for food. After a long and heartwarming road at our current location, we thought for the need of moving. Our new home, located at Alvaro Obregon 65 bis - a much wider space where gleams of natural light shine upon the surface-, is carefully assembled by Gabriela's meticulous look, and a kitchen built within Eduardo García's early memories, while living as an inmigrant in a barn in Ohio. Despite this big change, our principles initially founded remain the same: to offer food that distinguishes the best of local products.

Lardo in Mexico City is known for chef Elena Reygadas' cooking of Mediterranean food from a wood burning oven. Diners are encouraged to share. We do not accept pets.Lardo serves breakfast with egg dishes like croque madame and sandwiches. For dinner, choose from a number of small plates like ham, cheese and salads. There are also pastas, pizzas and grilled foods like octopus with chorizo, tuna, calamari, squid and beef. Desserts at Lardo include tiramisu and sorbets.     Our best meal so far in CDMX. The portions were generous: three of us shared two appetizers, two mains, and two desserts and we still took home “to-go.” The food was innovative and delicious! Service was highly professional and the space upstairs was lovely. A real gem.

    Staff immediately made us feel like home. Excellent service and incredible dishes. It was the first time for my girlfriend and I and for sure we’ll return to have Leche de Tigre Lima700, Filete Saltado and Pisco Sour. The owner of the restaurant, Eduardo, and Chef Zamudio, greeted us at the end of our dinner and even explained us about some ingredients and where they find them in Mexico City. Even the music was perfect; DJ was playing not too loud, but enough to have a nice mood and be able to have a conversation. Congratulations on everything and for sure we’ll be back soon!

    Very pleasant setting for this wonderful restaurant. This young woman is truly a talented chef. Her sauces are very multidimensional and delicate at the same time. Best tiradito ever, the grilled chicken had the taste of chicken we used to eat decades ago, the bock Choi was amazing. Great meal and a pleasure to watch her direct, organize and prepare the final presentation. No yelling or temper tantrums in that kitchen. Inspiring
