Serving contemporary French food, this much-loved independent restaurant has been going strong for over 22 years. Before booking, please note the restaurant has both downstairs and upstairs. The same menu options are available on both floors. There is no lift upstairs. Re Tasting Menu Timings: At lunch you must book before 1.45pm, and at dinner before 8.45pm. Located right by Clapham Common, Red Vine is a neighbourhood restaurant that celebrates Modern British food with a focus on wine. Only using local ingredients, owner Richard Herbert and Head Chef Julio Amado have created a delicious, seasonal British menu with a Mediterranean twist. Slow-cooked ox cheeks; deep-fried mussels served with aioli; and truffle tortelloni tossed in garlic butter all feature on the beautifully curated menu, which is divided into small plates and large plates. And with an uncomplicated wine list and creative cocktails, there are plenty of reasons to stay a little longer.The charming restaurant welcomes dogs and is beautifully decorated with colourful walls and original church pews. We are long-standing customers of The French Table. We had the Tasting Menu which had seven courses each one being superb, the best being the last with a quite superb pistachio cheesecake. The service was very attentive and were excellent in clearing up after I had accidentally spilled my glass of wine with the minimum Of fuss.

beautiful colourful food, bursting with amazing flavours. Absolutely delicious. Service was wonderful too and some of the nicest wine i’ve had in a long time. Only complaint was being told that we only have the table for 1.5hrs, it’s not the best vibe as soon as you walk in and just would’ve though that 2hrs minimum was appropriate but I get that it was a busy friday night. Otherwise an impeccable dining experience, thanks so much.

Really friendly staff who were attentive throughout our meal. Our food tasted delicious . Only comment is that the plates could have been better presented. There was quite a lot of food on the plate and it lacked a bit of eye appeal. Otherwise a very enjoyable mid week meal!
