The Connaught Grill, once one of London’s most celebrated restaurants, has returned to The Connaught giving a respectful nod to its distinguished heritage. Design of the restaurant is led by interior architect John Heah with a strong focus on art and craftsmanship complete with extraordinary signature wall panels, tables and chairs made by Mira Nakashima bespoke for the space.Located on the ground floor of the hotel, the intimate 46-seat Connaught Grill is under the direction of internationally renowned chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten. This is his modern interpretation of a classic grill with an open kitchen complete with wood-burning grill and rotisserie offering the finest British sourced produce. The menu includes ingredients from Gillardeau oysters and Dover sole to British game and Wagyu beef along with an exceptional wine list drawn from The Connaught wine cellar.

Goldies’ menu focuses on the use of a wood-fired grill, with a selection of small and large plates connected by rich, smoky flavours. Highlights include a Merguez Scotch Egg with harissa mayonnaise, Marinated Baby Chicken with smoked yoghurt, and Grilled Wild Mushrooms, Baby Leek, and a confit egg yolk.     We had the most amazing dinner at the Smith's! We were a little concerned about the noise when we arrived but to our delight we were seated in the coolest back room area, and separate from the front main bar. Perfect for private parties if you wanted to bring the office or plan a family reunion. We ordered 4 meals and a couple of sides, along with some fish and chips (My wife is from Norwich and having fish and chips is always a great addition to any feast). We're not drinkers by our boys and their wives had wine and beer and very much enjoyed their drinks. The service was also great! In fact when we got seated the room was a bit freezing, and there were only a few others in there, so I asked one of the gents if the area we were in had separate air and he was so nice about it, turned it down and it was just perfect for the amount at guests. I wish I had taken pics of my plates of food, I'm not the guy that remembers that kind of stuff, and to be honest the food disappeared nearly as quickly as it arrived! The table went silent for about 10 minutes while everyone dug in, and boy did we enjoy it! For the next hour we all picked at everyone's plates and enjoyed each other's company. I'd go back in a in no Time for any special occasion or any meal! They have Sunday Roasts, and guaranteed we'll be going back for one of those! Our entire family enjoyed The Smith's for our Dinner Feast and we all recommend it to anyone who hasn't been before!

    Seated in a cosy corner and it was surprisingly quiet. Great little venue - small enough that the service was excellent. The milkshakes were amazing, and the burger really fill you up.
