Smith's of Wapping is located on the River Thames with fantastic views of Tower Bridge and The Shard.Smith's, famous for fish, was initially established in 1958 and today offers fine dining facilities.We are now open from 12pm until 230pm for lunch and 5.30pm until 11pm (last seating time is 9pm) on Monday to Thursday. Goodman specialises in steak. Our chefs source the best beef from both sides of the Atlantic – from premium USDA corn-fed herds to grass-fed Scottish beef, grain-fed Irish Angus and rare breed Belted Galloway from the Lake District in England – to present a unique combination of a traditional British chophouse and classic New York grill. All of our meat is dry aged and cut on-site – which can be seen in our glass-walled dry-ageing room. Couple that with one of London’s largest collections of American red wine, fine single malt whiskeys and a couple of great traditional English beers on tap and you have a match made in carnivore heaven.

    Fabulous menu choice & every course we chose was excellent quality. Service is very good, always a busy restaurant but a great location overlooking the Thames. Vegetable side portion dishes are very generous, so you probably only need order 1 potato & 1 veg dish between 2. We have eaten at their Epping (Ongar) restaurant too & the menu’s are very similar, and quality equally good.

    We had the Rib Eye with Mac &cheese and tender stem broccoli and it was wonderful and came on time. The mac and cheese wasn’t as juicy as i would prefer but everything else was great. Our host Daniel was resourceful, humorous and advised on us on what to order. Which obviously enjoyed. The place was super full clearly cos it was vals day. But overall, I’ll definitely go back for the food and service.

    Had the valentines menu. Good price but what they call sharing sides are actually regular sides between 2 so we had to order more. The dessert that came with it was essentially a plate of whipped cream with some pastry and a sprinkle of fruit - terrible. They also put the tables way too close together so you get to hear the full conversation of your dinner neighbours. Other than that, the steak is tasty, our waiter very attentive and it was a nice time.
