What do you do when you want something done properly – especially when you’re a long way from home and you simply can’t find exactly what you’re looking for? Well, the tried and tested answer, of course, is to do it yourself – and that is exactly what Giuseppe, founder of Sapore Vero did, when he created our first Pizzeria in Beckenham, South East London – now entering its 11th year of trade – and then opened a 2nd in nearby Hither Green in 2019. After moving to London (quite some years ago now!), Giuseppe quickly found himself becoming frustrated with a lack of truly authentic Italian pizza, “that I liked”, as he puts it, produced using the methods that he grew up with, like generations before him, in his native Calabria, Southern Italy.

"A unique and beautiful pizzeria in one of the hidden gems of South London; Venn St"We opened our pizzeria in Clapham a few years ago with a simple mission; serve great food in a beautiful space, like with all of the Berberè sites. Now, a few years later we have lovely local following that come in droves, especially at the weekend.Although open all year round, from springtime onwards you can sit outside on the terrace with a negroni, glass of prosecco or a craft beer and transport yourself to Italy, surrounded by festoon lights and olive trees. Inside, you'll find two beautiful rooms with an open kitchen that spreads across the two sides. If you're lucky and book enough in advance, you could hire the side room for a private booking (up to 40 people). We've had people celebrate birthdays galore, wedding parties, end of exam parties to name a few - you name the occasion and we'll sort the party.

Fatto a Mano serves authentic Neapolitan pizza, sides and more. We use fresh ingredients in a warm, friendly environment. Our dough is made fresh daily and proved slowly, meaning we’re able to use minimal quantities of yeast and our pizzas are light. The best pasta I have possibly ever eaten! Pizza was also delicious, we will definitely return! Staff were very friendly and attentive. The venue itself is relatively small, so booking on a weekend evening is needed!
