Sassoon was awarded the Military Cross for "conspicuous gallantry" and later won acclaim for his writing. We're pretty sure he would have loved our food too!A warm welcome awaits diners from General Manager and Director Tom Haacke and his team. Water Lane is a restaurant based within a working market garden in the High Weald of Kent. Guided by the seasons, our menu reflects its sense of place in the English countryside where we grow our own vegetables and use local suppliers. This is a restaurant for that very Special occasion....Why only Special? Because it is a Special place to enjoy fine dining at its best. Exquisite tasting plates of food, locally sourced alcohol, beautiful ambience, welcoming and attentive staff. It is on the higher price side but every mouthful is worth every penny. Thank you Tom, Your Head chef and all your staff for a Very Special Evening.

Welcoming, warm on a freezing cold day, excellent staff from cloakroom to front of house. Attentive, but not overbearing. Made us feel very special. Food appealed to all 4 of us and was enjoyed. Relaxing, not rushed. Overall, a great experience and can’t wait to go back.

The set menu was lovely. Would be nice if it were also inclusive of vegetables as that really adds to the cost. Took two people who had never been before and they were impressed.
