Friedmans was named after the famous economist Milton Friedman who popularized the phrase, “there ain’t no such thing as a free lunch”. This phrase has gone on to be used in science, economics, finance, statistics, technology, sports, & now food. However, to put it simply, “to get one thing we like, we usually have to give up another thing we like.” Our mantra is simple, “Eat good food” and this is what we strive to deliver to our guests. We always enjoy Friedman's! We both love their salmon and this time we added one of the specials, mushroom soup. Delicious! And bowl was big enough to share. I just wish they'd bring back their lobster and macaroni and cheese. My favorite!!

Burger was delicious. Crab cake is full of fresh crab, but could use a little more of the sauce. The slaw served with it is very good too. However, I think the crab cake the boathouse used to have was better. Appreciated the complimentary plate of veggies to start. Offering some bread would be nice too.

Everything was superb. Really fun and interesting atmosphere. Live music, feels like a classic NY Italian family restaurant. Tagliatelle was fantastic as a Primo. Scungili salad was the special which was excellent. Best pork chop I’ve ever had (with potatoes and hot peppers). My wife had the shrimp and she loved it. Would recommend very highly - on par and even superior to top Italian restaurants in Manhattan and the Bronx.
