Back after more than a two year closure following the George IV Bridge in late 2021, Merchants has undergone a full refurbishment. Merchants serves Scottish cuisine in one of the most bustling areas of Edinburgh. Braised shin of beef, haggis and seared seabass are some of the dishes on an ever-changing menu, and the restaurant is happy to try and cater for any specific dietary requirements. We came here a year and a half ago and I have been craving the baked eggs with goats cheese ever since! Today we ordered that (obviously), eggs Benedict with spinach and mushrooms, a green juice to round it out, coffee, snd a flat white. Everything was as delicious as I remembered and our next stay in Edinburgh will include a repeat visit!

Fantastic food, great service. From the Haggis Spring roll to the Chocolate pave each course was superb. Decent and well priced wine list too. A great date night for my wife and I.
