The Rabbits is a family friendly gastro pub & restaurant in the heart of the essex countryside. We pride ourselves on good friendly service and good quality homecooked food with our seasonal menus, we serve real ales, fine wines & premium spirits. We have a great beer garden where you can take in the picturesque views whilst not having to go too far to order any food or drink as this can all be done at our garden bar which is also playing background music around our garden, this is open Thurs-Sunday throughout the spring/summer weather permitting. The food, vibe, and service were all great. We came for the Indian infused roast dinner - pork belly & cauliflower cheese were standouts. The smaller roast potatoes were a great balance of crispy and fluffy. There were a couple of minor grips: peas were cold, and the trimmings on the menu didn't match those served - parsnips and chard were seemingly replaced with carrots and peas. Both were tasty, but unfortunately the side of carrots was excessive as a result. It's pretty annoying to do, but if the parsnips aren't delivered in time it's worth either reprinting the menus or having staff mention the deviations to expect from the menu. Either way, I'll be coming back to eat the entirety of the regular menu!
