Each day, the restaurant receives natural, local organic meats and produce from nearby vendors. The inclusion of regional Pacific Northwest ingredients into a menu of dishes developed in the south has created a unique flavor profile in Screen Door's menu. Many of Screen Doors dishes draw their inspiration from Louisiana and the Cajun cooking that's found there. These include our world-famous fried chicken, Lowcountry shrimp and grits, smoked andouille chicken gumbo and fried okra. Other items, like the house-smoked beef brisket and braised pork shoulder, come straight from the state of Texas. Always a great experience! Great service and food. I had the bacon and egg fried rice and it was delicious. Only complaint is that the cost for parking in their lot was 35 dollars for 2 hours. Yikes.

Everything was delicious and well paired, for example the gravy really enhanced the fried chicken rather than overpowering it or making it soggy. Mac and cheese was just the right richness and texture. Cocktail was very tasty. Presentation of everything was thoughtful. Generous portions. I was super impressed with the quality, especially for a casual come-as-you-are restaurant. Would definitely come back if we lived in Portland!

We had a great time, chicken and waffles and the egg Benedict dishes were good. The staff are fantastic! Also, can’t go wrong with bottomless mimosas.

From the first greeting to the quality of the service was absolutely. I went there to host a graduation dinner for my clients and the atmosphere was so chill and set the mood for the entire evening and the food was great.
