Named for Capri, a culinary crossroads for Mediterranean-Rim cuisine, Cetrella's 22-year fine dining appears in Gourmet Magazine, MODERN LUXURY Silicon Valley Magazine, among others. The dining room's atmospheric Venetian plaster colors evoke sea and sky, sand and cliffs, foliage and forestry, opening to a Spanish-tiled Paseo, teaching kitchen and underground speakeasy. Cetrella's Executive Chef Vincenzo Vottero leads the culinary team preparing innovative seasonal dishes including signature artisan pastas. Bologna, the capital of Emilia-Romagna, where he was born and pursued his culinary career, was in 2022 voted Conde Nast Traveler Reader's most delicious city in the world. Established in 1959, owners Jenny Youll and Mike Sabina expanded the once small coffeehouse of St. Michaels Alley into this intimate dining establishment in 2009. The restaurant provides three comfortable spaces for a dinner out with friends, date night, or a complete private event. The main dining room is wood paneled and intimate. The front room / bar area is more casual and social, yet still offers tables with linens and the full menu. The solid wood bar is a favorite dining spot for many of the regulars and locals. A beautiful outdoor patio is most enjoyable on warm summer days and nights as it open to the sky. Enjoy a cocktail at the full bar before venturing into one of the upscale and relaxed dining spaces of St. Michael's Alley.The restaurant is currently offering the Autumn Menu on the Patio as well as takeout, Tuesday through Sunday starting at 5pm.

Bistro Elan serves French dishes created mainly from ingredients obtained from the local farmers. The cozy interior is ideal for a date night or a small celebratory dinner with friends. The open kitchen offers a homey feel where you can enjoy an apple salad or La Quercia Prosciutto before moving on to an entrée of local Petrale sole or a Sonoma duck leg confit. Bistro Elan offers outside seating. Dine on a pan-seared Scallops or Flat Iron Steak in the open air.Bistro Elan has a modest international wine list that has been carefully chosen to pair well with each dish.     First visit to Scratch in Mountain View and overall I rate it a solid 4 all around. Located in upbeat and trendy Castro Street. Our party of three enjoyed good food and drinks in a pleasant atmosphere. The staff was courteous and attentive. We endulged in the Fried Chicken with Baked Beans and delicious Cornbread. Accompanied with a side order of Macaroni and Cheese. We also ordered The Seafood Ciopinno and a gourmet style Hamburger with Bacon and a Side Salad with a Creamy Vinaigrette. I started my meal with a Single Malt Whiskey that paired wonderfully wth my Bacon Burger! Dressy Casual I believe to be suitable attire. The bill for the dinner and drinks wasn't too bad. Would definitely return
