Entering the Saloon, a family owned restaurant since it opened in 1967 is a bit like stepping into Philadelphia's past. Dark oak paneling, shiny brass and authentic local antiques create a warm congenial and casual atmosphere. The choice of two comfortable dining rooms each with its own vintage bars make dining and conversation a relaxed and enjoyable experience. Both bars feature a delicious and moderately priced food menu. The menu is Italian with seafood specials such as grilled octopus and dover sole. Saloon steaks and veal chops are legendary. Many prefer a plate of fried long hot peppers to compliment the steaks. All desserts and gelatos are made on the premises daily.     We had an amazing Valentine’s Day experience. The food was delicious, the ambiance was so romantic and the live pianist set the mood perfectly, he even played a request which topped off a very special night!! Oh and the Lobster Ravioli and the NY Strip Steak was so amazing!!Thank you Bistro Romano!!!

    As always the staff at Fiorella goes above and beyond. We arrived for a Valentine’s Day reservation at 5:30 inside but an earlier seating wasn’t budging and we ended up not being sat until around 6. The staff immediately apologized for the wait and set us at ease by saying, “please take your time and don’t feel rushed — we have rearranged seatings.” We then were given a welcome glass of wine and a complimentary pasta for our patience. Again the staff just went above and beyond. Every dish was perfectly prepared and delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience once again.

    I have been wanting to go to this restaurant for YEARS! And it did not disappoint. The salumi misti - 10/10. I had the fried artichoke hears - delicious. My husband had the virtu soup and loved it. My carbonara was very good. We had to have a little gelato for dessert. Unbelievable. I can't wait to go back! Our waiter - Greg or Craig? - was so excellent.
