A French-Japanese bistro in the Arts District of Downtown Los Angeles. Reservations are always recommended, but we are often able to accommodate walk-ins as well. Open for indoor and outdoor dining and curbside takeout. Outdoors dining is subject to the weather. We have heaters but not for all tables. Please dress warmly. If there is a chance of rain we will have to cancel.Shiro has been named the Zagat Guide's number one restaurant and is consistently one of the highest rated establishments in the guide (#5 in 2011; #2 for service in 2013). Shiro is summed up by it's ingredients. Menu items are driven by the best available, nothing less is acceptable. For over 35 years, diners have enjoyed our French and Pacific Rim inspired menu. A tradition of fine dining with excellent, friendly service. We may supplement our menu with a special Taste of Shiro (soup or salad, meat or fish, dessert). Wed/Th. The evening's menu is posted around 3pm.As much as we love them, we must ask that your dogs and other pets stay home. Service dogs, of course, are welcome.

    We have been coming to Shiro's for many years and, once again, they reminded us why this is our favorite "special occasion" restaurant. The food is always excellent -- tasty and beautifully presented. Last night we enjoyed 2 favorites, the salmon tartar tacos and the catfish. The staff is very friendly and attentive and the atmosphere is lovely including the soft jazz piano playing on the sound system.

    Gyu Kaku will forever be one of my favorite restaurants to dine in not only for their food but for their exceptional service. If you’re looking for a good restaurant with good food and great service Gyu kaku is the perfect choice.

    Wonderful meal. Decibel Martini and Army Navy cocktail were both delicious. Black sesame Parker house rolls with butter and house cured ikura were so good! Abalone and shrimp pot pie was very good, and Koji-roasted chicken was juicy and wonderful. Very attentive service.

    I came in observance of the launch of a Jujutsu Kaisen mobile game that launched and for one day, Asayoru has made some of menu items Jujutsu Kaisen theme. I ordered the gyodan that wasn't much different than the regular gyodan, it has a sausage on place of an egg to replicate Sakudo's finger. I had the Gojo parfait and it was yummy. It has a vanilla scoop, blue jello, and Pocky. I did enjoy the matcha milk. When I arrived, the cafe was very busy. It holds he same fun atmosphere like it was back at EXP, but it was on a Saturday, so, high chances of availability to go is expected for young adults who work weekdays or go to school can make it on the weekends. I was able to get some Jujutsu Kaisen freebies after sharing the banner for their mobile game on Instagram. I was able to have a good time at Sakurin's birthday event the day after or the day I reviewed my experience. One thing I want to point out is in the second row somewhere in the middle, I felt something hot on my back. I assumed it was the stage light projecting from the back row. I was too focused on the performance to consider finding out.
