For many years, the Kula Lodge has been a favorite for both visitors and Kama'aina alike for delicious cuisine and breathtaking views of Maui. Perched high on the slopes of Haleakala with a 180 degree view of Maui, the Kula Lodge and Restaurant is a comfortable and homey place to relax, especially on your way down from the sunrise or sunset at the crater. It is situated on 4 lovely acres and not only has a stunning botanical garden, it has the only full-service bar and live music in Kula. It's also the only place upcountry with dancing (on Friday and Saturday nights)!The restaurant seats up to 160 guests, making it ideal for weddings and special events. The Kula Lodge outdoor Garden Terrace features a brick wood-burning pizza oven and an open view of south, central and the Maui mountains. The sunset views are absolutely phenomenal! Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 5-7 have live entertainment; Friday & Saturday evenings from 5-8pm have live entertainment AND dancing!

Aloha, we are open daily from 11:00am to 10:00pm, with our last seating available at 9:45pm. We accept reservations & reserve a large amount of space for walk-ins. If your desired reservation is not available, please join our waitlist in person daily. Happy Hour is available daily from 3:30pm-5:00pm (excluding select holidays). Our chef driven concept is led by the classically trained, award winning chef, Peter Merriman. Peter is a culinary pioneer and one of the founders of Hawaii Regional Cuisine. He has always been inspired by the people and products around him and this spirit has lead the movement to look at food in Hawaii in a new light. Monkeypod Kitchen by Merriman embraces this passion! Our everchanging Market Driven Menus always include a glass of sparkling wine, are Prix-Fixe, between 6-8 courses and range from $230-$300 per person plus tax, gratuity and any additional alcohol.RESERVATIONS, CANCELLATIONS AND DIETARY RESTRICTIONS: If you are late, please call to let us know. We will make every attempt to catch you up, but we absolutely cannot make any guarantees on coursing and pacing. Reservations are STRICTLY held by Credit Card. Cancellations within 48 hours of the reservation will be charged $200 per guest, WITH ABSOLUTELY NO EXCEPTIONS. Please allow at least 2.5 hours for dinner.     We were impressed with the service as the restaurant was prepared with numerous employees. Wait help, servers, food runners were plentiful. All were friendly and courteous and appeared truly happy to be working on a holiday. It is a reflection of the owners and management of Haliimaile General Store Definitely a “we will return” restaurant for our family!!!! Of course the food was awesome too Mahalo

    They made an effort to set the table we requested. Did not happen but close to the area I would like. Very pleased with the expanded HH foods. All of our selections were very flavourful. And generous.

    We had the absolute best time at Monkeypod in Wailea. Our food was delicious. We had the iconic Mai Tai’s, lobster deviled eggs, the Saimin, and Bulgogi Pork Tacos. Everything came quickly and was phenomenal. Our server DJ was personable and gave wonderful recommendations. We will definitely stop by again before we head back home!

    Had a fantastic dinner last night with my husband and toddler at a cozy upcountry Maui spot. The vibe was intimate yet casual, perfect for our family. The drinks were amazing, the steak was cooked to perfection, and our server, Ben, was attentive and kind. Can’t wait to return!
