The one place our friends that live in Oaxaca said was a must, and they were right! Delicious food, friendly service and nice location. We came in for lunch after a hot day in the botanical garden and the courtyard at Origen was perfect with its airy atmosphere. With a refreshing beer in hand, we started with three appetizers and were blown away. The Fish Ceviche, Duck Enchiladas and Beef Tartare were amazing… so much so that we had another Ceviche as our entree. Our kids shared the Res-Tirada Rib-Eye and loved it! Great service and atmosphere, with authentic cuisine. Our favorite in Oaxaca so far! A+!

Beautiful restaurant, incredible atmosphere. The host was very rude and dismissive to my request for a table in the courtyard which then sat empty the entire night while we stared at it from our bright table in a busy walkway. The appetizers were lovely but the main dish was disappointing - the tuna was very fishy and unpleasant. Desserts were delicious and beautifully presented. We were lucky for the tip that a tasting menu is sharable - it was more than enough food for the two of us and more affordable as well. It’s not the best but a gorgeous spot and worth a visit if you’re into interiors not on a budget!

What a wonderful experience! Everything we ate, from the divine corn and squash blossom soup, to the miniature braised short rib tacos, to the incredible elote tamale, was exquisite. They offered us a scrumptious complimentary amuse bouche of chicken mole on chicharrones, a basket of incredible little cheese breads, and the most gracious, warm service. We want to go back and try everything, as the party of six next to us was doing, with very evident delight. One of the best dining experiences ever.

Di 4 estrellas porque manejando la reservacion con Vds. era muy complicada. El numero de telefono no funciono. La senorita que recibe los clientes a la entrada nos dijo que hay que usar Open Table. Entonces fui a Open Table y hize mi reservacion, recibi mi confirmacion en correo y cunado llegamos el siguiente dia al restaurante, mi reservacion no estaba registrado con Vds. (la senorita en la entrada). Yo la ensene mi confirmacion, esperamos en la puerta de entrada, ella corriendo por aqui y por aca, hablando con otros. Al fin acepto nuestro reservacion. Era demasiado stress en fin para disfrutar su lugar. Entonces 4 estrellas y eso era liberal
