Bar Toscana is an intimate, chic cocktail bar next door to sister restaurant, Toscana, in the heart of Brentwood. Bar Toscana’s Executive Chef Justino Quirino curated a simple yet elegant menu with small plates, entrees, and "Street Food" Specials. Chef/owner Nicola is one of the top Italian chefs in LA. He is at the center of Osteria Vera, in their open kitchen, preparing and overseeing the preparation of everything. His food is delicious. We had the Hamachi crudo, topped with lemon and shaved bottarga, the Lechuga salad, another pasta dish with spaghetti and more bottarga (our favorite) and the roast duck. I love duck and this was prepared perfectly; meaty and tender pieces with crisp skin. The service was excellent; friendly, attentive, well paced.

Always a good experience at Ospi. Consistently good food and service. I like how the Brentwood location is nice and feels upscale but not stuffy. This time had the spicy eggplant (my favorite), the roasted cauliflower (very good), kale salad (solid staple, always very good), pasta with sausage (good) and the dover sole (i don't eat this but my campanions loved it). I always find their pizzas and pastas to be delicious as well and the Butter Chicken is not to be missed.
