Essence is a casual restaurant that serves French cuisine using seasonal ingredients. Chef Shiro Naito opened the restaurant in 2010 to provide dishes that celebrate the essence of each season. Essence is conveniently located next to Inokashira Park and Ghibli Museum. Its spacious dining area provides tables for guests and a private room for special occasions. The menu at Essence offers themed seasonal courses. The restaurant uses organic, pesticide-free vegetables from Yoko Farms, has its fish and shellfish delivered directly from Hakodate and uses chemical-free fertilizer from Tokorozawa to grow some of its own ingredients.

Cibo is an Italian word for “food.” The menu makes maximum use of the true, honest flavor of excellent ingredients, including fresh seafood delivered every morning from the Odawara market; ingredients in season; and organic vegetables from contract farmers, carefully selected for quality based on repeated farm visits. The dishes are simple, made from delicious seasonal ingredients regardless of brand. Some 100 wines are available at reasonable prices.     すべての料理が、これまで食べたことのない味わいで驚きました。いずれも複雑でいくつもの食材を組み合わせており、それが見事に食べたことのない味わい&おいしさに昇華していました。ここでしか食べられない味があると言うのは素晴らしいことで、既に、またあれが食べたいこれも食べたい、と思っています。 カジュアルすぎず、スノッブ過ぎない、真面目な印象の接客も私はタイプです。 3人で種類1本、赤バロールをあけて約40,000円ですので、全く高くないと思います。 もちろん、こんなにお酒を飲まなければ、もっとコンパクトに夕ご飯が食べられるでしょう。
