Restauranteur Shawn Virene put the POP into Houston with his wildly successful a’Bouzy. This champagne-fueled spot located in the tony River Oaks neighborhood of town attracts a stylish crowd all day. The bar is always bustling and the patio echoes with the cry – “a Bouzy!” every time a bottle is sabered tableside. In fact, most tables will have multiple wine buckets close by, keeping the bubbly cool. We had dinner for three in their private dining room - great ambiance, lower noise level. Two dozen east coast oysters were delightful, served ice cold, opened to perfection, with delicious condiments - as always at State of Grace. Being regulars at SOG, we ordered our usual - Caesar salad, blackened redfish, Cacio et pepe pasta, and topped it off with their chocolate pecan ball. All were delightful, which, along with the normal friendly, efficient serving staff and attentive management team, keep us coming back again and again. Keep up the great work SOG team!

Hard to understand a French place that does not have good bread and butter. Food is average at best, the furniture and decor looks dated.

Took our friends to dinner to celebrate their recent wedding and our wedding anniversary. Had the chef’s tasting with wine pairings. Everything was exceptional. The food was excellent and the wine pairings were perfect. The service was fantastic as well. Overall, a wonderful experience. We will definitely return. Unlike some of the Michelin starred restaurants we have visited in Europe, this is a more relaxed experience which we appreciated.
