Designated historical, 740 is one of Colorado's two oldest remaining saloons; transformed back to its 1904 roots; a traditional American dining saloon with a turn of the century ambiance featuring a magnificent room dominating bar, built in 1880 by the Brunswick Company,. The copper spit trough, once equipped with running water, still exists at the front of the bar. Louisville, notorious for its drinking, gambling, and illegal activities, evidence of the occasional misunderstanding is the .22 caliber bullet hole in the front bar. The bar offers a selection of craft beers, wines,  handcrafted cocktails and an extensive craft bourbon selection.Dinner Tue. thru Sat.     740 Front has been a favorite for years but we moved 40 miles north and only dine when in the area. Quality and service remain fantastic and the menu still features many long-time specialties. Worth the drive, worth your time, and worth the price. You will be surprised and delighted

    We went to Famille for my 70th birthday dinner, just my husband and myself. It was absolutely amazing! We started with Grey Goose Martinis and their Artisan Cheese Chareuterie Board (A MUST!). I had the Bison Short Rib/Brussel Sprouts/Buttermilk Garlic Pomme Purée (mash potatoes). delicious! My husband had the Braised Duck Leg/Pork Belly Braised Red Cabbage/Sweet Potato, Cranberry Demi Glaze also amazing! We had a bottle of their Herriot Champangne…OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!! WE ended with their Chocolate Cake/Hot Fudge (They put a candle on it for my birthday and it was free!) my husband had the Winter Citrus Tart. We shared both! What a very special celebration!

    The food was amazing. The waitress and bartender were very rude. The host was wonderful. Ayden was his name he made sure we always had beverages, clean silverware and asked if we were doing ok. He was very mature, kind and respectable! Ayden will be the reason we return.
