Rookie Eatery offers diners contemporary Australian cuisine in a casual context. A produce-driven menu centres on modern Australian food, as the kitchen serves an eclectic mix of local ingredients with multicultural influences. At Rookie, we believe that ‘Australian cuisine’ is a multicultural phenomenon that exists nowhere else in the world and so we aim to provide a contemporary interpretation with the local ingredients on offer.     Food was good but I would say the service was top notch. Food wise, you have to try the Peking Duck. Best peking duck I have had in the Illawarra. Service and ambiance was outstand. The server was attentive and provided great suggestions. Even looking out for the table when there was an error during service. We met the owner as well and she was very fun to chat with and provided further details into the inspiration of the dishes. She provided suggestions for different dishes to try, that we otherwise missed. Next time we come, we definitely will try out the prawn and chive dumplings, the duck spring rolls, the fried prawn wonton and the prawn crackers. Keen to see where the future of this restaurant end ups and what future dishes are implemented.
