The Michelin Starred, Fordwich Arms, located in the smallest town in England, dates as far back as 1828. Love this restaurant/pub Fabulous food (with exception of the cod roe snack which none of us were keen on sorry ) Love the way the place has been designed from entrance courtyard to the loos . Lovely fires, candles And staff Sorry we were a group of 6 so were (probably)!! making noise

Great welcome, first class service, excellent food with bumper portion sizes. Brisket was truly melt in mouth and really well seasoned. Our 8 year old grandson loved it and said the presentation of the starters reminded him of Masterchef! Well worth the 80 mile round trip. Highly recommended and we will be back.

As always we enjoyed a wonderful relaxed lunch at the Duke William. Staff members Jenny & Adam excelled at making us welcome. We like the new menu, especially the Jerusalem artichoke & goat's curd starter which is delicious. Ditto our old favourite the vegan cheeseburger & fries. There are so many things we like about the Duke William which is why we have dined there 3 times in recent weeks. Delights include the roaring log fire, beautiful garden with views across the fields & oast houses, plus the friendliness of the staff. We also like the ease of parking. The Duke William is our favourite country pub. Our only complaint is that Kentish Gypsy Tart is no longer on the menu, it was our favourite dessert, but has not been available to order for a long time :(
