The Red Lion is a pub in the heart of Bloxham, just a few minutes drive from Banbury on the A361 to Chipping Norton.The pub is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We pride ourselves with promoting local small craft breweries. From well kept Cask Ales, to fine premium Lagars and Weisens, to Belgium trappists and Lambics.Our wine list has been specially selected to compliment our menu created by the award winning Nicholas Maloney, our Head Chef.The Village is situated at the convergence of several country walks. As well as being next to the A361. The Red Lion provides a relaxed spot to stop and have a bite to eat on your travels. Solanche, Richard, and the team at The Royal Oak are proud to offer Michelin-starred dining at our village pub, between Shipston on Stour and Stratford upon Avon, on the edge of the Cotswolds. Since 2019, we’ve been dedicated to exceptional food in a community-focused setting.Alongside our Michelin-starred dining room, we have a relaxed bar with a pool table and darts, creating a space for everyone. Our menu celebrates terroir-driven, ‘proper country food,’ focusing on wild, seasonal ingredients. Our aim is simple: to tell the story of our community and the local producers we work with.The menu changes with the seasons, with some dishes lasting six weeks to highlight the peak of their season, while others may be available for just a week or even a single service—a fleeting, micro-seasonal snapshot. This approach supports sustainable land and woodland management, honours the natural balance of the land, and reflects our commitment to preserving it for future generations.

We are open for our full a la carte restaurant service from Monday to Saturday each week with tables from 18:00 until 20:30. We are closed for dinner on Sunday, but the bar is open. We offer lunches daily and our wonderful Sunday lunch has tables from 12:00 until 16:00.
