Executive Chef Mr Alamin l-b-n Aftab was headhunted by Joy’s Managing Director and previously worked for the prestigious Taj Hotel Group and some of the UK’s top Indian restaurants. I love this place. Food good, mostly. But this time the dessert was not quite as hoped with a great deal of ersatz chocolate sauce on profiteroles that were supposed to be caramel, which was disappointing, but the burger and fish finger sandwich were excellent. The service was slow because of a very loud large group next to us who took priority. But we weren’t in a rush luckily. I’m looking forward to the lobster roll being back on as indicated on the website menu, but I always seem to go when it’s not ‘in season’ I am told.
