Humo [oo-moh], is a modern firehouse situated in the heart of Watford, serving Spanish inspired meat, seafood, fish, and seasonal vegetables cooked in a charcoal and wood oven. The furnace reaches temperatures of over 300 degrees Celsius so the produce is seared and smoked in seconds, making sure the flavour sings on your palate, and not on the plate.The restaurant boasts a beautiful, seated island bar, a peephole into the working kitchen and covers for over 100 guests. The a la carte menu is purposely focused on dishes that dance in the fire, and the specials menu celebrates the produce only available seasonally.The wine list is carefully designed to pair with the menu and comprises of a sophisticated range of wines from around the world. Richard has been the custodian of The Potters Arms for over 8 years now, before taking over The Potters Arms his background has been 25 years in the Independent Restaurant trade, working with fresh food, searching and building relationships with the finest suppliers in the area to make sure that the food served from the kitchen is consistently the best it can possibly be.We have just built a terrace bar which will be open for brunch and crepes, coffees, Ice Cream, Slush Cocktails & Pizzas.Bill the Head Chef at The Potters has come in and taken over the position and his idea is that The Potters Arms being a Classic British Pub, our Menu should replicate that with lots of homemade pub classics, however with his culinary skills he will introduce a Daily Specials Menu that will be superb quality.

    Food was great, but the staff made the experience 1000% better. I interacted with multiple waiters and all of them were so kind and attentive. I went there for my birthday alone and they were so amazing. I had a birthday card waiting for me when I got there, got a complimentary drink and they put a candle on my dessert. I didn't feel lonely at my dinner and I was also sitting at the counter so it was interesting looking into the kitchen. I would recommend this to anyone who hasn't been before.

    We had an amazing meal on Saturday night in the restaurant area and enjoyed a drink at the bar after. All three courses were delicious, well presented and fresh. The service was flawless - we were met with smiles from every member of staff we encountered. The vibe of the Princess Royal was the exact thing we were after for a festive celebration. Would 100% come back again and recommend to friends! Thank you ☺️

    The wife and I went for a mid-week date night and had a lovely time at Humo. The staff were welcoming and friendly, the decor and overall aesthetic was very cool and most importantly the food was delicious. It’s a great asset to Watford high street.
