Casa Vega, in Sherman Oaks, opened its doors in 1956 and has been serving the people of Southern California ever since. Local residents, and even celebrities, have flocked to the family-run Mexican restaurant currently run by Christy Vega Fowler, daughter of original owner, Rafael Vega. While the decor is modern, the menu still reflects traditional Mexican menu staples. The extensive menu allows for every person to find something to enjoy. Homemade house guacamole, or one of the many soup or salad options, make for a great starter. The entree options are plentiful. Casa Vega serves everything from traditional chicken mole, a plethora of burrito options, combination plates and specialty options, such as carne chile Colorade and the signature Casa Vega molcajete.     Great experience from check in to finish. One of the managers, Stephanie, came by our table at the beginning and was very kind and welcoming! All the servers and bussers had great energy, were knowledgeable, and contributed to a wonderful night out! Emily was a pro and so kind. Highly recommend the Lamb Hummus for a starter, if you eat meat! The Sea Bass is prepared a little differently from other restaurants. It was perfectly cooked, had some crisp and delicious flavor. Brussels Sprouts definitely deserve their moment. We do t often order dessert, but were curious about the special Hillel’s Donuts. You can taste the Prosecco in the chocolate sauce, and strawberry sauce was fresh! We will be back to this location soon!

    Perfect valentines lunch date for me and my wife, clear skies. We were some of the first people there so we got seated quickly. The spinach dip was amazing and my wife loved the mushroom pasta. Would definitely come again for special occasions or dates with the wife.
