A Family Tradition For Over 90 YearsMrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant first opened in 1934 with Mrs. Knott and her children serving the first customers in their tea room. The restaurant has grown over the years into one of the largest in California, but the classic fried chicken dinner is still made the same way today using Mrs. Knott's recipes. Perfect place to meet friends for a light dinner before attending Speaker Series at The Terrace Theater in downtown Long Beach. Five of us. Servers friendly and helpful. We needed to request the social hour reduced price menu. Not sure why it wasn’t on the table. Quickly brought to us when asked. Brussels sprouts are my favorite, wish I had a photo. Flash fried to a perfect crunch, huge serving enough to share. Three of us had the French onion soup. Delicious! Just enough melted cheese & big chunks of caramelized onions. Meatballs very yummy & the salads were fresh and tasty. Highly recommend you stop by when on the area. They accommodated our time schedule, our server was attentive to our needs. Wonderful service & Great food! We’ll be back when we have more time to enjoy the rooftop ambience.

Great ambience and delicious food. Helpful and pleasant staff. We got seated right away and timing of service was good. Plenty of time for a relaxed meal before the theatre.
