Sammie’s is a little taste of old Italy in downtown Austin. It celebrates the great ‘red sauce’ institution—inspired by old school, legendary Italian-American restaurants. I could not be happier with our many experiences at Sammie’s. The food is consistently fantastic, the service is incredible and the atmosphere is so fun! It’s always a treat to come here and cannot wait to come back!

Nice Sunday afternoon vibe when I visited. Music was more like a DJ spinning tunes but I didn’t see one if there was. We were seated near the bar at a nice table for two. Server was friendly and knowledgeable, and our food arrived quickly. Everything was delicious! There were two birthday tables seated next to me and we were happy to join in when the waitstaff sang to them. I feel like we were there during a shift change because around 4:00 the music went into a very contemplative and somber tune and our server disappeared. Another server closed our ticket so no worries there. In all, it was a good atmosphere and excellent food so I will return.

Trust me, do it! Chef Endo and team do an amazing job explaining everything throughout the night. This was my first time experiencing this so I appreciate that very much. Don’t be afraid to go solo like me. I met wonderful people.
