Casa Vega, in Sherman Oaks, opened its doors in 1956 and has been serving the people of Southern California ever since. Local residents, and even celebrities, have flocked to the family-run Mexican restaurant currently run by Christy Vega Fowler, daughter of original owner, Rafael Vega. While the decor is modern, the menu still reflects traditional Mexican menu staples. The extensive menu allows for every person to find something to enjoy. Incredible food! We had the burrata with persimmons and celery, grilled prawns (Amazing!!!!!), short ribs and broccolini. Everything was so flavorful and beautifully paired flavors. Best broccolini I’ve ever had. Will return again. Everything was perfect for sharing.

Food is great. Setting is wonderful. Service is very good. Prices are in line with what one expects for this type of food although $6 for a tea bag felt like a rip off. I do have one complaint. A patron at the table next to us was listening to something on his phone without earbuds and at full volume. He came in after we'd already been seated, so he could have easily chosen a location away from diners as the restaurant was only 20% occupied. I would appreciate if the restaurant would kindly request that patrons wear earbuds or sit away from other diners.
