Having recently celebrated its 50th Anniversary on Union Street, Perry’s remains an enormously popular San Francisco institution. Perry Butler initially opened Perry’s in 1969, bringing to Union Street the hustle and bustle of the neighborhood saloons of New York’s Upper East Side. The blue and white checked tablecloths, hexagonal tiled floor, wood-paneled memorabilia clad walls, and menu of American classics produced an atmosphere that has held true today-- comfortable, inviting and cool. Kokkari (pronounced “Ko-Kar-ee”) is a small fishing village located on the islands of Samos in the Aegean Sea, whose name is derived from the small onions that were once produced in the nearby fields. Wonderful food and service. Would be nice to dine such lovely food in an atmosphere where one can have an enjoyable conversation with fellow diners rather than having to yell over the relentless piped music. The food speaks for itself. The music dimities ones enjoyment.

Food is so good!!! We shared the beet salad, a margherita pizza, the butternut squash raviolis and the gnocchi. I am bot generally a fan of gnocchi but these were pure heaven! Okenty of ootions for our vegetarian party of 4. Drinks and dessert werre a smash hit too!
