There is a discretionary 10% service charge for larger parties of 8 or more.Located high up on Saddleworth Moor above Manchester, Rochdale and Oldham, the Rams Head Inn at Denshaw enjoys panoramic views out over the surrounding countryside. It’s just five minutes from Jn 22 of the M62 and the inn is a real treasure, more than 450 years old and packed with memorabilia as well as stoves & log fires in every room.     Gorgeous meal. Shared a starter of duck liver pate which was super smooth and delicious. My partner had the roast beef dinner and I had the pork chop with black pudding mash. Both were absolutely beautiful. A fantastic Spanish red that I’d never tried before, which was also fab. Great service as always & beautiful cosy surroundings.

    The food was amazing. Best steak and ale pie my husband has ever had. The french onion soup was so flavourful. The staff were so lovely and friendly. Would highly recommend a visit.

    Our first time at The Hawthorn. Was a lovely restaurant. Greeted by very helpful polite staff. Very accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. Efficient and professional. Pleasant and polite. I had the flat iron Steak with peppercorn sauce and crispy skin on fries. Absolutely delicious. Couldn’t find fault. Service was very prompt. The fries were the best I’ve ever tasted. My husband had the Burger with fries and he really enjoyed it too. Plenty of choices from the wine and beverage section. Prosecco was very nice as was the Ilkley beer. We didn’t have room for desert. Again nice choices from a traditional menu. Very nice indeed and we will definitely be returning.
