Darling’s is a fresh pasta eatery in East London. Overlooking Olympic Park, the eatery is a hidden gem in Fish Island where the industrial and creative spaces converge. Roman Road, Bow, Hackney Wick and Victoria Park are just a stroll away from your weekly treat of freshly made pasta and wine from independent producers. Egle Loit, a trained pasta chef, has previously popped up mostly around East and North London, creating a buzz with her pre-restaurant residency at Vestry House Museum in 2023.Founder of Darling’s cares dearly about the craft that fresh pasta making requires. “One can turn humble ingredients into abundance with skill,” shares the restaurateur. Roe is a modern and spacious restaurant in the heart of Wood Wharf from the trio behind the critically-acclaimed sister restaurant Fallow St James’s and FOWL.The extensive a la carte menu is divided into nibbles and flatbreads, skewers and grilled options, with larger plates and sides also available. We had the tasting menu with wine pairings and thoroughly enjoyed the night. The overall feel was casual but the level of service made the evening special. The wine pairings in particular were all super interesting choices with interesting tidbits about of the wine makers given with each glass. Would highly reccomend for a special dinner.

We had a great experience at Cafe Spice. The service was very personal and friendly with recommendations provided on the menu items. Food was delivered quite quickly and more dishes could be ordered as needed. Some items were a little different to the traditional presentation - e.g. chicken tikka was not the typical cubes of chicken in a very orange hue. Cyrus was coordinating things in the kitchen and took time to come and chat with all diners towards the end of the evening.

Had a great dinner here and a specific thanks to Camilla who looked after our table. Camilla was really kind, attentive and really friendly so a perfect host.
