A few short steps from the British Museum, The Blue Door Bistro provides a welcoming and informal bistro-style setting. Light and airy at lunchtime, warm and cosy by evening, the room is decorated on three sides with a panoramic view of London circa 1849. Together with the rich mahogany panelled walls, effective use of mirrored glass, and contemporary wrought iron wall lights, an ambience rooted in the hotel’s location is beautifully achieved. Delightful from start to finish with friendly and attentive staff. We had afternoon tea and our waiter was particularly helpful with nothing being too much trouble and ensuring we were well looked after, replenishing sandwiches, cakes and tea!

Older dining area downstairs from a book shop. Not super fancy, which was exactly what we were looking for in our afternoon tea. The tea was good, the sandwiches were ok, and the scones were excellent. Overall, I felt like it was a good value. I would recommend Tea and Tattle.
