A few short steps from the British Museum, The Blue Door Bistro provides a welcoming and informal bistro-style setting. Light and airy at lunchtime, warm and cosy by evening, the room is decorated on three sides with a panoramic view of London circa 1849. Together with the rich mahogany panelled walls, effective use of mirrored glass, and contemporary wrought iron wall lights, an ambience rooted in the hotel’s location is beautifully achieved. Executive chef, Martin Halls, blends seasonal ingredients and herbs from our garden with classical techniques to create seasonal British menus. Our cuisine is commended with an AA rosette and accredited by the Sustainable Restaurant Association (2 stars). In all of our products, we only use free-range eggs and are committed to sustainable fisheries for our fish supplies. Our team are trained to ensure that your specific dietary requirements are catered for at all times.

Located on High Holborn, close to the British Museum, the restaurant is elegantly designed and filled with original Indian art and antique furniture including century old items made for Maharajas which take diners on a journey through Indian culture and history. The menu reflects regional accents with a contemporary viewpoint. It is food that observes the established traditions of Indian cooking but breaks the rules a little by Executive Chef Sohan Bhandari. Our menu goes beyond a 1970’s “Curry”, beyond street food and into a world of real Indian flavours. A pleasant late lunch with friends, we chose this restaurant as it seemed to be a relaxing quiet environment in lovely surroundings which it certainly lived up to We were hoping to book the fixed price lunch menu but this seemed very difficult through the one table app so ended up with the a la carte which was fine, generally enjoyed by all

A marvelous culinary experience with a perfect balance of flavors, every dish is truly delicious. The service is impeccable, and the staff are really friendly. I’ve visited Colonel Saab three times now, and I can only recommend it highly!
