In addition to the food, we offer a selection of fine wines, quirky cocktails, and have a collection of over 25 craft gins available.World War I poet Siegfried Sassoon lived in Matfield and is the inspiration behind our name. Sassoon was awarded the Military Cross for "conspicuous gallantry" and later won acclaim for his writing. Welcome to The Warren Restaurant, an extension of The Crowborough Estate, holding stock of Sussex Cattle, Boer Goats, Fallow deer, and Wild boar amongst others which the restaurant draws on for its menu. We are a Dog Friendly restaurant. Given the provenance, the kitchen predominantly cooks British food, occasionally dipping into other cuisines to provide a vehicle for flavours – nettle gnocchi for example, or poached oyster with wild boar chorizo.WE wanted a unique fun and informal restaurant, to offer their Crowborough Estate’s produce from. Lovely little restaurant can’t believe it was so quite in there as this is little gem Would highly recommend staff very friendly and helpful. Food was lovely and well presented. entrance was a little confusing to find maybe it could do with being highlighted better. Thank you for a lovely evening for my daughter’s birthday.

A delightful venue for an Afternoon Tea in the heart of Tunbridge Wells. Lovely rooms and the tables are not too close together. All staff welcomed us warmly and were helpful during our visit. A wide variety of teas from which to choose and an extremely tasty selection of both savoury and sweet treats. A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon and we shall certainly be recommending and returning.
