The name comes from the Syriac word 'itriya,' used by Arab geographer al-ldrisi to describe a type of dried pasta he saw in Sicily during the 12th century. The origins of this term are much older, however, with varying versions of it found in ancient records across the Mediterranean and Middle-East. The name reflects just a small piece of the evolution of Italian cuisine as a confluence of global influences. Food is so good!!! We shared the beet salad, a margherita pizza, the butternut squash raviolis and the gnocchi. I am bot generally a fan of gnocchi but these were pure heaven! Okenty of ootions for our vegetarian party of 4. Drinks and dessert werre a smash hit too!
