The quality of the food overall was very good, however the sticky toffee pudding could have been hotter and the custard less runny. The staff were very pleasant but as our stay continued and the number of covers increased thet did appear stretched and we had rather a longer wait for our dessert course than I would usually expect dining here. The ambience during our two hour dining experince was rather spolit towards the end by excess noise from other diners so much so that it became difficult to hold a conversion at normal voice level. Please accept these as constructive comments as we really like eating at the Drumming Snipe and hope to be back in the new year.

Book and order with confidence, the food is much better than expected for a pub/restaurant. Delicious. I had a snack of squid rings with a bang bang dip, then a braised pig's cheek starter Mains were venison and lamb shoulder tart, with a side of green veg, and a chocolate terrine to finish, all superbly cooked and served. I sat in the bar area as it was empty and quiet when I arrived, and also the log fire appealed as it was a cold day. The room is a little draughty (doors opening, and single glazed windows), and I was not warm enough so I moved tables and sat pretty much in the fireplace. Lovely. The only down side is that being a pub, dogs are allowed in the bar area. If I went back (and I will if I'm in that area again) I would not sit in the bar area, I would opt for a NO DOGS area, as my chocolate terrine experience was spoiled by the smell of wet dog.

We had such a wonderful meal. Absolutely delicious food, great wine. The staff were very attentive and all very lovely. Would 100% recommend. We will definitely be going back.

Excellent food, attentive and friendly service and huge range of draught beers, ales and ciders. A great restaurant masquerading as a great pub.

Waitresses made us feel very welcome. The cafe is dog friendly (waitress even provided a blanket for our dog to lie on and some water). Food was delicious and the Chai Latte was best I've had. An ideal place to meet up with friends over lunch.
