Welcome to The Merchant’s Yard in Tideswell!Located in the heart of the stunning Peak District National Park, this family-run business is the ideal setting for any occasion; whether it be a relaxing lunch, delectable afternoon tea or a mouth-watering three-course dinner from our selection of seasonal menus designed by the head chef. Blacklock is a modern take of the Great British chophouse nestled in the corner of a Grade II listed textiles warehouse. We take the best meat in the country from the award-winning farmer and butcher Philip Warren in Cornwall. We cook chops simply over our charcoal grill with a little help from vintage Blacklock irons and serve it all up alongside cocktails from the trolley and wine on tap in our subterranean chop mecca.     I booked a table for Valentine’s Day around 5 months ago now and WOW this food did not disappoint! I got the carbonara whilst my partner got the beef ragu pasta. Although both were absolutely gorgeous (and definitely some of the best pasta I’ve ever eaten) I definitely had food envy from my partners plate haha! We started with the focaccia and trio of butters which was stunning, and I must not forget to mention how good the home made lemonade is!! As a huge pasta lover this is HEAVEN for me. I’d also like to thank our server (I’m unsure of his name but it was a young man with curly hair and a blue jumper) as he was AMAZING all evening. He was very attentive, explained dishes on the menu thoroughly and overall gave great customer service with a smile! Please ensure he gets the praise he deserves for this because I can hands down say that’s some of the best service I have received in years and that should be recognised!! Thankyou again x

    Easy to book online. Communication quick. Easy to order.food tasty. Weren't offered a choice of anything after clearing main meal plates. Equally we didn't ask. Ambiance lovely. Food fabulous. Would we go again... absolutely 💯
