Taking hospitality back to its roots with a warm welcome from our genuinely friendly team breathing new life back into the heart of the community. The menu will offer daily, hyper-seasonal specials, and plenty of British game, meat and fish. Executive chef and owner, Jamie Dobbin is passionate about local sourcing and traditional dishes, such as Half dozen Porthilly rock oysters with shallot dressing, Brixham King scallops with burnt butter cauliflower and caviar or Portland hogget Shepherd’s pie with grilled cutlet. Serious meat lovers can expect 45 day aged native and rare breed steak on offer as well as a hero dish of Beef Wellington for two. Fish is of course wild, sustainable, and British, sourced from day boats on the South coast with the daily catch delivered straight to the door in a matter of hours. Harvey, our waiter was very attentive and showed an interest in the menu choices too making the selection process much easier for all. The setting of the restaurant is fabulous and overall it was such a pleasant lunch. I will be coming back again soon maybe even before Xmas if I can get in. Thanks again.

We had a wonderful meal for my father’s 85th birthday. He throughly enjoyed his lunch plus the special extra touches that made his day special. One of the highlights was the ‘scone’ with Jam and cream. My parents - both Cornish (born there and now live there!) raised some debate and laughter! Staff are attentive and the food was delicious.

Good parking availability. Friendly staff and they know their food, which they can explain what the dishes are. Very good service, staff kept checking and make sure your water are topped up. Good quality food, definitely enough for a normal person. Tried the fish and chips and it was perfectly cooked.
