The Forge has its kitchen front and centre in the middle of this lovely, and elegant space. Incredible dry-aged beef and wild venison will be found in the maturation cabinets, awaiting their turn on the amazing forge grill, to be lovingly grilled and roasted over beech logs. Head chef Dan Regan, a passionate chef, heads up the young, vibrant team in the kitchen. Combining amazing, wild, sustainable ingredients from land and sea into sumptuous creations that form really memorable eating experiences. We focus on British ingredients, as local to Chester. Our venison, always a hugely popular part of our menus, is harvested from herds on estates that focus on improving biodiversity and deer health – a process we call Farming the Wild.

We are an authentic Italian wine café, proud to offer quality Sicilian wines and spuntini appetisers across the UK. In the spring of 2013 something extraordinary happened. Two Italian guys in their twenties met in Manchester to find out that they shared a unique passion; they both loved and missed, the Italian Aperitivo, the ritual of drinking, nibbling and relaxing after work. A daily occasion to share moments of happiness with friends and family. By the end of that very same year, Veeno was born: a place where everyone could enjoy great wines and the most authentic Spuntini – platters of meats, cheeses and other appetisers imported from strictly selected Italian producers. Our wines come from Caruso & Minini, our family vineyard back in Sicily where great-grandfather Antonio planted the first vines in the XIX century. Since then, we have been working hard to ensure that our quality and tradition could flow from the bottles to the glass in your hand.

    We had a fantastic girly lunch here - the set lunch menu was delicious and reasonably priced. The servers were attentive and went above and beyond for us as we had a 8 month old baby. Will definitely come back and visit in the summer to enjoy the balcony!

    I booked a table for Valentine’s Day around 5 months ago now and WOW this food did not disappoint! I got the carbonara whilst my partner got the beef ragu pasta. Although both were absolutely gorgeous (and definitely some of the best pasta I’ve ever eaten) I definitely had food envy from my partners plate haha! We started with the focaccia and trio of butters which was stunning, and I must not forget to mention how good the home made lemonade is!! As a huge pasta lover this is HEAVEN for me. I’d also like to thank our server (I’m unsure of his name but it was a young man with curly hair and a blue jumper) as he was AMAZING all evening. He was very attentive, explained dishes on the menu thoroughly and overall gave great customer service with a smile! Please ensure he gets the praise he deserves for this because I can hands down say that’s some of the best service I have received in years and that should be recognised!! Thankyou again x

    Had the valentines menu and couldn’t fault anything.We both had different choices but it was all so tasty couldn’t fault it at all.I can’t usually manage 3 courses but I wasn’t leaving any.Highly recommended

    Food was amazing, we did the Valentines set menu, and it was wonderful. So much food for the price making it not feel overly expensive and really great tasting food. Highly recommend the truffle roast potatoes if you get the chance to have those. My girlfriend really enjoyed it and found it a trendy place while still being intimate if you’re going as a couple.
