The Assembly House is a gorgeous Georgian gem perfectly located in the heart of Norwich. We set out to create the kind of establishment we'd love to find in one of the UK's most beautiful cities, one where old-fashioned hospitality is valued, food is delicious and where beautiful surroundings can be found hidden around every corner.From breakfast where we serve our unique Beforenoon Tea - the breakfast edition of afternoon tea - to lunch which includes Assembly House classics and grazing boards, we're open seven days a week. We're most famous for our themed afternoon teas which change regularly and are served from noon until last service at 3.30pm daily. As the Home of Afternoon Tea, we also serve some spectacular savoury versions of tea, including Beforenoon Tea, seafood option Afternoon Sea and our cheese-based option Afternoon Cheese. Please let us know your dietary adaptations for vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free or vegetarian teas at least 24 hours in advance.

The Cliff Hotel dates back to 1890 when the original hotel was opened, in 1915 the building was ravaged by fire and demolished. The old staff accommodation was renovated into a new hotel, the building that we currently occupy today.     I booked our table on line so easy to do . 4 people Took mum and dad me and my fiancé. Zoey was brilliant and she was so attentive to my mum . The food was lovely Sunday roast , shepherds pie, the ivy burger and supreme chicken all dishes were delicious 😋 We have had great service and good food every time we go . Highly recommend a visit .

    We had the valentines set menu which was absolutely delicious, the food came out very quickly, very decently priced for what we had and our server mira was amazing! 10/10 stars for his service. So happy and bubbly and made mine and my partner’s evening! Overall was an amazing evening, the saxophonist was a lovely touch as well Thankyou!

    Lovely experience. We had the Peter Pan afternoon tea and it was delicious! We also loved the added touch that £1 per afternoon tea is donated to St Ormond Street Hospital! The display was lovely with lots of fun details. We went on Valentine’s Day and it wasn’t too loud or crowded. We were celebrating a birthday and we received a birthday card and a little chocolate treat with a candle in on the arrival of our tray. Staff were polite and attentive. Highly recommend.

    Lovely afternoon tea. Sandwiches were fresh and everything was delicious. Service was brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble.
