In addition to the food, we offer a selection of fine wines, quirky cocktails, and have a collection of over 25 craft gins available.World War I poet Siegfried Sassoon lived in Matfield and is the inspiration behind our name. Sassoon was awarded the Military Cross for "conspicuous gallantry" and later won acclaim for his writing. Welcome to The Warren Restaurant, an extension of The Crowborough Estate, holding stock of Sussex Cattle, Boer Goats, Fallow deer, and Wild boar amongst others which the restaurant draws on for its menu. Given the provenance, the kitchen predominantly cooks British food, occasionally dipping into other cuisines to provide a vehicle for flavours – nettle gnocchi for example, or poached oyster with wild boar chorizo.WE wanted a unique fun and informal restaurant, to offer their Crowborough Estate’s produce from. A lovely welcome as soon as you enter the restaurant as we were taken to our table every member of staff said hello to us which is very nice. We were offered drinks as we sat down at our table, if anything the staff were a little to attentive which is a nice thing. The food was as good as the Instagram post look with quite large portions. We will definitely be returning 9/10

Incredible experience! Not having to worry about gluten AND delicious and innovative food made the evening one of the best in memory. The space is beautiful and the concept creative. Staff was warm and helpful with ordering. Can’t wait to come back.

Excellent experience, more than just food and drinks - as my friend said, it's bringing you to the other world altogether. The ambience, the friendly atmosphere and the selection in the menu are just outstanding.
