A contemporary take on the classic oyster bar, located in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, near BAM, Barclay's, the Paramount, and Atlantic Terminal. Strange Delight finds its influence in New Orleans and is also inspired by the rich history of oysters in New York. Located in the heart of Gramercy in the restored Assembly Hall of the landmarked United Charities Building, Hawksmoor is a steak restaurant that celebrates all-natural, pasture-reared, and traditionally dry-aged beef. Our beef is seasoned simply with sea salt and cooked over live-fire charcoal. Our seafood is locally and sustainably sourced from northeastern waters and we use small-farm produce whenever possible. On Sunday afternoons Hawksmoor keeps with the tried-and-true British tradition and features a Sunday Roast. As you step inside you’ll be transported by the Santorini aesthetic where fresh ingredients hit your senses and human interaction is a refreshing priority. Kyma’s airy, whitewashed wood design balanced by European stucco, evoke the stylized spirit of the Greek Islands. Generous seating at long white wooden tables are lined with plush, white canvas cushions. We do have a DJ for your entertainment on Thursdays in the main room and on Fridays and Saturdays DJ starts at 8 PM. During our dinner parties the music does increase in volume and becomes more upbeat as the night progresses. Please note: you must be 21 years of age to enter during our DJ hours.
