Always a great experience. Food was excellent. Just wished they had a little bit more of a selection.

We dined at mar’sel tonight to celebrate my wife’s birthday. As always, the service was amazing. We decided to sit outside and it was a little chilly. They offered us blankets as the heaters warmed up. Such a nice touch. We ordered the special filet and ribeye along with the seabass. My daughter had the kids’ filet mignon. Everything was cooked beautifully. The service alone is reason enough to love Mar’sel. Add on the exquisitely prepared food and it has quickly become our go-to for special occasions.

At breakfast I had the best congee I ever had in the United States at San Laurel. The ingredients were spectacular. Home made dried pork hash was made from jamon iberico and their XO sauce was also homemade by the chef. I shall order congee for breakfast every time I stay at Conrad Downtown LA.

As for the menu, prepare to be swept off your feet by the ocean trout tartare – it's a love letter to seafood that even Poseidon would approve of. The burrata is a creamy delight with delight cucumber that will make you question why you've ever eaten anything else. And then, there's the French toast, a carbohydrate devil that could easily moonlight as dessert.
