Opened in June 1922, The Tam O'Shanter boasts a rich, storied history and warm, inviting atmosphere. We’re proud to be in our 10th decade of continuous service. We originally considered it a quiet pastoral road stop, since Los Feliz Boulevard was just an unpaved country lane traversed by rabbits and rabbit hunters, in that order.Everything changed when Walt Disney and his animators, set designers, and crews began trekking out between takes for a bite and a refreshment. So often, in fact, that the Tam was once dubbed “The Studio Commissary.”Join us and see why the Tam is said to have been Walt’s favorite restaurant!As a family-run establishment, we’re committed to keeping our community safe. Brian Dunsmoor’s namesake restaurant, Dunsmoor, is the latest iteration of his ongoing exploration of American heritage cooking. It is, first and foremost, a restaurant for the community that surrounds it, and a loving expression of the relentless research that has informed his cooking for the last ten years.We offer the full menu at tables in our dining room and at the chef's counter, as well as at our outdoor tables. Reservations are recommended but we make every effort to accommodate walk-ins when possible. Dunsmoor's wine bar, accessible either through the restaurant or via its own door on Ave 35, does not accept reservations and serves a limited menu of our raw and larder items.

    Wonderful dinner after coming back from the symphony. Sara is a great server. Ambience is great. Drinks and dinner (we had The Artichoke) were outstanding. Another very enjoyable time at The Raymond!

    We ordered the prime rib and it was delicious. It was very tender. The prime rib was prepared the way we ordered it and the sides (creamed spinach, mashed potatoes, Yorkshire pudding) were wonderful. We enjoyed our meal and our service was friendly and attentive.

    I will come back again and again and again for that branzino. It’s next level, like death row meal status. The drinks are good, but definitely heavy on the mezcal (and pre-made so no substituting). The service was great - we sat at the ceviche bar, so it was really fun to watch the chefs do their thing. The yellowtail and toro sashimis were so fresh and light, and the Magdalena had perfectly balanced flavors. Vibes were immaculate too. Can’t wait to go back!
