It all started in 1992, when Annette and Gerner Andresen opened the Lighthouse Café in Sausalito in its present form. The Andresens, both born in Denmark, had recently immigrated to the U.S., and along with them they brought the Scandinavian flair for simplicity, good quality and tasty food. The café has over the years become famous for its breakfast and lunch, with American classics like good old-fashioned burgers and a great selection of omelets, along with Scandinavian classics like Danish Meatballs or Norwegian Salmon. Now with four restaurants, The Bar & Grill offers Brunch Lunch & Dinner.

Open for lunch (two courses/$65), brunch (three courses/$98), and dinner (three courses/$125), Spruce offers seasonal prix-fixe menus crafted by Chef Mark Sullivan.     My husband and I went to the New Year's Day special 3-course brunch. The menu selection was excellent, the service was great, and the overall setting was lovely. My 3-course meal included the crab toast, Lobster egg benedicts, and apple tart. All the dishes were excellent. The freshly baked coffee cake was excellent too. If they decide to do it again next New Year's Day, I will sign up again.

    Love the friendly service and the food. We've ordered multiple dishes for brunch and dinner and the food was overall very tasty. Cocktails are good too!

    Went to Wilder SF for Christmas dinner. My wife had the prime rib special and I had the pork chop dinner. Both were amazing. The pork chop had a wonderful sweet and salty flavor—no complaints on anything! We did the roast cauliflower for an app and they were super thoughtful of my allergies and skipped the flash fry since calamari goes in it (seafood allergy) and let us know it would take just a touch longer. Appreciated the safety and communication. We finished with affogato for dessert which is served in a waffle cone. A little twist on a classic. I wouldn’t normally like a waffle cone with it but it made it perfect to split with my spouse who really enjoys that part. Great place. Can’t wait to go back.
