A legendary hangout in North Beach since it opened in 1919, and even more so from the 1980's onward when Jeanette Etheredge took over Tosca. Locals including Willie Brown, Lars Ulrich and Francis Ford Coppola were regular fixtures, Hunter S Thompson wrote his column for the SF Examiner in the corner booth, Bono, Lauren Hutton, and Mikhail Baryshnikov played pool in the back room, singing Opera and drinking Tosca House Cappuccinos. I've always love the food at Tosca, and have been coming here for over a decade. I was more impressed than usual last night with the service. We were a table of 9 people and felt like we were being taken care of by friends who anticipated what we needed. Can't wait to return.

We started at the bar for a cocktail! Love that the bartenders have been there for 20 plus years! And enjoyed seeing a new apprentice learning the ropes! He was delightful!! And again having wait staff at the table that are ole pro’s and especially the backup staff! Very courageous and took such good care of us!! We had a wonderful time. We are locals and so enjoyed a SF favorite and landmark of the city!! Thank you! My Sanddabs were delicious!!

Cannot believe we’ve slept on this place. I’ve worked in luxury hotels and I should’ve thought about this place before but I just didn’t consider it. MKT will be on repeat for us! And you must get Ali as your server! What a fantastic person he is! Ali made the overall experience even better than it already was.

The food was amazing! The service was great, even when we didn’t know what we wanted yet the server was patient. They went above and beyond. The view was beautiful, The ambiance was a vibe, and it was a perfect date night!
