We know the word "fusion" has been wielded about to justify everything from Hula Burgers to Mexican lasagna. But the East-meets-South brand of fusion happening at Poor Calvin's? It's creative; it's innovative; and it's probably unlike anything you've tasted in the ATL. After working in kitchens around the world, Calvin Phan wanted to shake things up a little. And so, into the mac 'n cheese, the Thai spices went. Now, Calvin's giving Southern staples, like sea bass and fried chicken, a decidedly creative Asian-inspired twist (and a nip of spice, too). He has created innovative dishes, approached in much the same way, leave the hands of Calvin Phan day in and day out. His dedication and attention to detail are evident in each dish and dessert. You won't be disappointed.

This is our second time in 2 years going to Poor Calvin's and they never disappoint. We ended up having the waiter that assisted us the last time we were there. Be sure to ask for JoJo as your waiter. The food and drinks were delicious! The dinner portion sizes are big so come hunger. If not, no worries, you can bring the leftovers home. Overall, such a wonderful experience and I can't wait to come back again.

The food was amazing and the service was equally as amazing. Our waiter was knowledgeable, kind, attentive, and made our experience even more enjoyable. The atmosphere in Poor Calvin’s is great! Appetizers that are a must are the crab deviled eggs, frog legs, and fried green tomato’s! I had the Thai grouper for dinner and it was equally as amazing! I’ll definitely be back.

Amazing ~ the food is always consistent and tonight did not disappoint. It was very crowded but the server handled himself well. Great specials…the Lamb Loin was superb! The black chocolate crème brûlée was soooooo good! OMG. We love Poor Calvins.
