We know the word "fusion" has been wielded about to justify everything from Hula Burgers to Mexican lasagna. But the East-meets-South brand of fusion happening at Poor Calvin's? It's creative; it's innovative; and it's probably unlike anything you've tasted in the ATL. After working in kitchens around the world, Calvin Phan wanted to shake things up a little. And so, into the mac 'n cheese, the Thai spices went. Now, Calvin's giving Southern staples, like sea bass and fried chicken, a decidedly creative Asian-inspired twist (and a nip of spice, too). He has created innovative dishes, approached in much the same way, leave the hands of Calvin Phan day in and day out. His dedication and attention to detail are evident in each dish and dessert. You won't be disappointed.

This was our second time at Poor Calvin’s and it did not disappoint. Our service was outstanding and the food was equally as impressive. If one negative it was too much! Hehe. Had the special eggroll appetizer and drunken noodles and fried beef dish. Great wine paired and a perfect night. Recommend taking an Uber as parking is limited.

What a lovely restaurant. Fabulous soul food with a twist. Amazing service and the best ginger rum cockail I have ever had. I will be back for sure.

Poor Calvin’s has the highest level of customer service we have ever experienced. It was only our 2nd time going to dinner and they remembered our names, what we liked to drink and perfectly suggested entrees to our liking. The food is high quality, large portions and outstanding

New favorite restaurant in Atlanta. My waiter was superb. There were four items I would have loved and asked him which one I should go with. He recommended the third cheapest one and said I would not need any $$ sides. And he was right. Grouper was delicious and enough food in total. Wow! I’d be back again tonight but there are no open tables. Make reservations in advance!!
