A neighborhood gem! This family-run Italian restaurant offers a chic, rustic atmosphere in a downtown Austin landmark historic 1876 building. Enjoy outdoor sidewalk cafe dining just steps from the Texas State Capitol (dog friendly).
We feature a wide variety of authentic Italian pastas, pizza, meats, seafood & unique daily specials. (GF and Veg options). Daily specials highlight the freshest and most seasonal offerings, such as Rigatoni Alla Norcina (sausage with truffle oil), house-made Gnocchi Sorrentina, and Whole Roasted Fish. Gelato, sorbets and desserts are delicious and made in-house.
The cozy full-bar offers classic Italian cocktails and a sizable wine list representing Italy’s diverse regions.
All breads and pizza are made daily using naturally leavened dough and an ancient fermentation process; this improves digestibility and creates a delicious flavor. Neapolitan pizzas are baked at 1000 degrees in a wood-fired brick oven. Your new Austin favorite.

                                                          The place was in a frenzy when we arrived for our 7:00 pm dinner. Hostess and servers were literally running around. After short wait we were seated, water glasses filled and greeted by our waitress. There was a paper menu on the table and the we noticed blackboards on tables near us that offered additional meals (the waitress neglected to tell us that). My husband ordered the beet salad which were pickled beets, so made for a disappointing salad. I had the Cesar salad which was “meh”. I ordered the eggplant which was fresh eggplant and unbreaded. The sauce was flavorless and the waitress was too busy to offer fresh pepper or fresh Parmesan which would have given some flavor. My husband had a pizza and this seems to be where the restaurant excels. Crispy crust, just enough cheese and ingredients to wow you. Dessert was a chocolate tart which was also “meh.”

                                                          Sadly we did not get acknowledged for quite some time. Asked for water and owner gave us water and took our food order. Not sure he turned order into our server or the kitchen. Long wait. Charged for soda refill when honestly the soda should have been on the house as it was pretty obvious we had been forgotten and waited unusually long.

                                                          Great wine list and fantastic menu with seasonal highlights. Some of the dishes knocked it out of the park, some were just alright so a little bit of inconsistency but overall a nice experience for dinner.

                                                          Our first time there and it won’t be our last! Cozy and energetic! Food was excellent. Pasta made fresh daily. Pizza was awesome. Meatballs the best! You can always tell a good Italian restaurant by their meatballs. These were so good! Husband and wife owners were so nice to us too! Highly recommend!

                                                          I'm a regular here so I'll be brief. Chef/proprietor Gianfranco makes a great menu of dinner dishes based on the best ingredients available. His pizza dough and bread dough are first rate, in my opinion the best bread in Austin. Pizzas are the standards along creative pies. The wine vault is unique, with Italian standards but also from countries East of Italy, some superb. The staff is attentive. My favorite Italian in town.
